I agree that these should not have been added to the repository.
doc/src/create_usbstick_howto.txt says where they are meant to be taken
from so I don't think it's important to include them.

So long as everyone has fair warning of this, I think that's OK.

By the way, some of your commit messages mention updating for 'squeeze'
where you meant 'wheezy'.
