That code didn't change from 0.5.5 to 0.5.5.1.  It's probably just that this
case is somehow different from the one(s) which worked before, if indeed
others worked before.

Yes, this was clearly the intention, but the behaviour doesn't match.

0.5.5 source is available from apt CVS with the tag 'v0_5_5'.  I think
you'll find that it exhibits the same behaviour, though.
