Subject: apt: support for "no_proxy" would be nice
To: submit@bugs.debian.org

X-Mailer: bug 3.1.5

Package: apt
Version: 0.0.16-1
Severity: wishlist

It would be great if the http method had support for
the `no-proxy' environment variable too.
For example, I've been using apt on my bo box to get it running the latest
stable stuff; I found that the paths are broken in the Packages file for stable
and fixed this up on my mirror, but was using proxies (since my ISP
requires me to) and apt didn't notice because the proxy was out of date.
I can reach the non-US mirror without the proxy.

thanks,
Hamish
