Bug#880541: RFP: unison2.48.3 -- file-synchronization tool for Unix and Windows

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name    : unison2.48.3
  Version : 2.48.3
Upstream Author : Benjamin Pierce <bcpierce@cis.upenn.edu>
* URL : see unison package from stretch
* License : see unison package from stretch
  Programming Lang: OCaml
Description : file-synchronization tool for Unix and Windows

(Include the long description here.)
Same long description as for unison from stretch.

Unison requires the same version on the client and server sides
(this includes the OCaml version, which must also be the same).

A solution chosen in Debian jessie (and earlier?) was to provide
the version from the previous release (with some suffix so that
it is co-installable with the current unison), and then that the
unison-all package depends on both this version and "unison"
(current version). For instance, in jessie, the package name was
"unison2.32.52".

The issue in unstable (and the future testing/stable) is that
the current version (unison 2.48.4-1) is not compatible with
the version in stretch (unison 2.48.3-1):

  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=880449 (wontfix)

Hence the need for this new package to be able to synchronize between
sid and stretch (and maybe some other non-Debian platforms).

Note: The package name above follows the convention used in the past,
and it seems to be the expected name for the Replaces/Breaks used in
each unison version.
