I have slowed down a mouse by the following line in my .xinitrc: xinput set-prop "Logitech USB Optical Mouse" "Coordinate Transformation Matrix" 0.5 0 0 0 0.5 0 0 0 2 Adjusting the coordinate transformation matrix might be one way to go.
