Re: Conversion of the root fs to LVM on woody
Thanks for the quick guidance!
I've been thinking about performance when using LVM.
Doesn't the disks/PV's get very "defragmented"?
Let's say I have PV1 with VG1 and create two LV's.
First LV1 and then LV2 (then mke2fs...).
After that I decide I want to make LV1 2 Gb larger.
Where does the 2 Gb space get placed on VG1?
How does this affect performance?
Is this more critical for IDE than SCSI disks?
Thanks!
Emil
