The problem with this approach is how are you going to continue with
your daily work, and how are you going to read deb-user for support?
If you're totally new to unix/linux/debian systems, then I recommend a
gradual change so that you have time to adjust and get up to speed.
The situation you don't want to have is a fresh install of a new
system you are totally unfamiliar with and don't have the expertise to
configure it. You don't want to end up with a practically unusable
system and nothing you can do about it. This is my reason for
supporting the gradual switchover.
