errno 111 na instalação XFree86

Saudações,

Quando instalando o Debian r6 no momento de gerar o arquivo XFree86 encontro
a seguinte situação que impede a criação do mesmo:

The etc/X11/XF86Config file was not creat

Opto pelo NÃO pois se optar pelo SIM ele volta com toda a ladainha sem fim
de errno = 111
A instalação prossegue aparentemente sem maiores problemas

Por favor, alguém com alguma sugestão para solucionar este problema???

PS: Já instalei em  minha máquina (Pentium II 350 196 RAM) o RedHat 7.1 e
Conectiva 7 sem problemas de vídeo.
