Also bei mir geht weder das in Sarge enthaltene mplayer-plugin noch das 
vlc-plugin.

Das mplayer-plugin habe ich mir daher selbst gebacken und nun gehts.

- apt-get install mozilla-dev
- gecko-sdk-i686-pc-linux-gnu.tar.gz (google weiß wo es das gibt) downloaden 
und entpacken
- Plugin-Source von http://mplayerplug-in.sourceforge.net/ downloaden und 
entpacken
- ./configure --with-gecko-sdk=/path_to/gecko-sdk-i686-pc-linux-gnu
- make
- su
- cp mplayerplug-in.so /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins/
- cp mplayerplug-in.xpt /usr/lib/mozilla-firefox/plugins/
- prüfen mit der URL "about:plugins" in Firefox
- apt-get remove mozilla-dev --purge (falls es man es nicht mehr gebraucht 
wird)
