Package: texlive-latex-extra
Version: 2020.20201129-1
Severity: normal

The dinbrief package (last updated upstream 2000?) is broken now (it worked before the recent uploads of 20201203):

! Undefined control sequence.
\set@color ...\@pdfcolorstack push{\current@color
                                                  }\aftergroup \reset@color
\sbox  #1#2->\setbox #1\hbox {\color@setgroup
                                              #2\color@endgroup }
\@item ...i \fi \sbox \@tempboxa {\makelabel {#1}}

<to be read again>
                   \relax

https://groups.google.com/forum/embed/#!topic/de.comp.text.tex/ORKhTTha9EQ

The following workaround worked for me:

after \begin{document}, insert:
\makeatletter\let\default@color\current@color\makeatother

I don't know whether it is worth fixing this package upstream, or dropping it, given that it seems to be dead upstream for 20 years now. I guess I will try to
switch to scrlttr2.

Yes, another of those old left-overs.

As said, upstream = TeX Live and on the TeX Live side we *do*not* fix
these things. That has to go through upupstream (dinbrief author) to
CTAN and from there into TeX Live, and from there into Debian.

Thus, I am closing this bug according to the Debian TeX bug guidelines.

I suggest to follow one of the following paths:
- contact upupstream, that is the author of dinbrief, and ask them to
  upload a fixed version to CTAN
- in case this does not work, try to fix the package yourself and upload
  a fixed version to CTAN

In any case, if there is a fix on CTAN, it will arrive in Debian.

Best

Norbert
