I agree. Actually, this Debian bug already has  "upstream" tag and
marked "forwarded" to https://github.com/u-fischer/luaotfload/issues/49

I think  this is recognized by the upstream.

If my memory is correct, this comes from the underlying ConTeXt
and it was also discussed in the ConTeXt mailing list. Because of that,
the memory comsumption was improved from 6GB to mere 2GB!
