There are 2 classes of conflicts in texlive:
- the ones which are actual conflicts (ptex in ptex and
texlive-lang-polish) etc
- the ones which *were* conflicts when everything was installed into
/usr/share/texmf, and I forgot to take out again
the last group can be subdivided into those were I consider a conflict
useful not to hide newer packages in texlive, and those which are
definitely just forgotten in the tpm2deb.cfg file.

No, this is not a good idea. Better if it is updated and it blacklisted
from texlive.
