Bug#373931: dvi output does not work

please, always keep the bugnumber address, 373931@bugs.debian.org, in
the Cc line. This time, I've forwarded your mail to that address, so
that it gets properly archived, can be seen on the web and is delivered
to all teTeX maintainers.

It's pretty clear that you had a local customization that broke your
documents, and the packages are okay. Is there a directory
/local_home/manuel/.texmf-config/, too? If yes, this might contain
customizations you made somewhen and want to keep. But it could also
contain broken or misconfigured files that will make the problem
reoccurr.
