Bug#285793: tetex-base: installation of testing w/o error but: texconfig init fails and guide is for version 1.0

I installed all packages related to teTeX (testing, >2.0).
Soehow, it doesn't work:
- The documentation guide still says "What's new in teTeX 1.0". I'm
sure that the guied of teTeX 2.0 mentions 2.0.
- latex x.tex says
This is e-TeX, Version 3.14159-2.1 (Web2C 7.4.5)
kpathsea: Running mktexfmt latex.efmt
fmtutil: config file `fmtutil.cnf' not found.
I can't find the format file `latex.efmt'!
I set $TEXMF and $TETEXDIR correctly and did texhash
in my local .profile:
