Looks like this problem is caused by the following:
(1) Tetex-base is installed. This package messes up dvipdfm's diversion
of the configuration file.
(2) Tetex-bin is installed, which since it conflicts with and replaces
dvipdfm, it causes the later package to be uninstalled.
(3) Dvipdfm is uninstalled, but the damage has already been done by
tetex-base. Thus, dvipdfm cannot be uninstalled.
This is a problem with tetex-base, which should conflict with dvipdfm.
Hopefully, this will be fixed soon.
