Bug#179505: tetex-bin: mpost inconsistency

Package: tetex-bin
Version: 1.0.7+20021025-8
Severity: normal

Hi,

I'm using the unstable version of Debian ("sid"). After updating
recently, I run into the following mpost problems. I create using xfig
(version 3.2.4) a simple drawing having one letter of text (e.g. "u");
then use transfig to export to metapost. This simple file I then parse
using mpost.

The error I get is:
This is MetaPost, Version 0.641 (Web2C 7.3.9)
(conduct.mp/usr/bin/makempx: Command failed: tex mpxerr.tex; see
mpxerr.log

>> conduct.mp
>> conduct.mpx
! Unable to make mpx file.
l.72   q = btex
                \mpsetfnt u etex;

Using the same metapost file, on a different machine running the testing
version of debian
(Metapost is the same version "0.641" but Web2C is version 7.3.7) the file is
processed without any problems.

If you need more information for the problem, or a sample metapost file, I
would be happy to provide it to you...

Sincerely,
Dimitrios Rovas
