No, only from kpsepath and kpsexpand.

Actually, I suggest this and modifying the manpage to essentially say:

"These commands are generally regarded as obsolete and are maintained
for backwards compatibility only.  They are simply wrappers around
kpsewhich.  Please use kpsewhich instead for new applications."
