Bug#65837: installing local .mf files

It works for me. Thanks! I found I had to mimic the directory
structure of /usr/share/texmf, set the permissions right, install the
new .mf files, and run mktexlsr for it to work. Maybe a couple of
lines could be added to a file in /usr/share/doc/{texmf,tetex-base}
describing these steps? And maybe when tetex is installed, the
directory /usr/local/share/texmf/fonts/source could be created with
the correct permissions? Any other relevant directories too.

Sounds good to me.

Just out of curiosity, is there some reason that the local stuff
doesn't override the packaged stuff here?

Thanks again,

Dan

PS: Any idea why the lams fonts aren't distributed with tetex by default?
Lots of people use them.
