Re: PPPD problems after kernel 2.4.12 upgrade
I had a similar problem when I upgraded to a 2.4 kernel. The new pppd uses /dev/ppp , and the old one didn't - /dev/ppp didn't exist on my system, however, and I had similar symptoms to yours. They went away when I created /dev/ppp (`mknod -m 644 /dev/ppp c 108 0`).
