I have an updated woody testing setup on an ol toshi laptop. I'm setting it up as a mail server, firewall, squid proxy. In order to get iptables happening I upgraded to 2.4.12 installed the source and headers with apt-get before compiling. Since the PPPD dies immediately after passing the password 7 switching to PPP. The log reveals problems locations char-major-5, which I guess to be associated with the old pcmcia/serial modem setup. I tried re-installing pppd, which as expected didn't fix the problem. Anyone got any ideas?
