Follow up on smp kernel for V210/V240
Hi Adrian,
We chatted some weeks ago about upgrading my V210 to a second cpu and using the downgraded smp kernel you sent a link to.
Well, I had a bit of a disaster initially. The second cpu I installed initially was faulty. (I must have had it as a spare part for 15 years) and it burnt the cpu and socket. *doh*. Anyway, I swapped out the motherboard for one from a Netra
V240 I had around and stuck in another spare cpu I had. This is all working now. Unbalanced ram does seem to work too. I have 3.5gb installed currently. The only minor issue to resolve now is i have a fan failure on one cpu heatsink but a replacement fan should
be easy to find. Then I want some more ram (I will take this to 16Gb) and get an xvr-100 to get a desktop so I can hook this up to my kvm.
So, some issues along the way but all working now. I am currently managing this system via cockpit since I don't think I can get webmin working.
