packaging RProtoBuf: permissions only patches?

hi folks,

i'm in the process of packaging the RProtoBuf R package (by dirk et al.), but have hit a snag. a couple of the files in the source are R files that are set as executable (0755), but without the `#!/usr/bin/Rscript` bizo at the top of the file. this leads to the warning:

https://lintian.debian.org/tags/executable-not-elf-or-script.html

i've submitted a PR to dirk, but it seems like an incredibly trivial PR, and i can't see him releasing a new version as a result.

so i fired up quilt, created a patch, changed the permissions, refreshed quilt, and it tells me that there are no changes ... which there aren't really.

so it doesn't look like quilt will track 'permission only' modifications.

what's the best way that i should get rid of these lintian warnings?

with thanks

jonathon
