I would like to ask a slot for a Poppler 0.48.0 transition.
Poppler 0.48.0 is hopefully going to be released this month, so it will
be uploaded to experimental first, as usual.
This transition impacts the existing poppler libraries in the following ways:
- libpoppler61 → libpoppler64
- libpoppler-glib8 -- BC with 0.44 (one new symbol)
- libpoppler-qt4-4 -- BC with 0.44 (few new symbols)
- libpoppler-qt5-1 -- BC with 0.44 (few new symbols)
Below it is a list of sources which are touched by the transition:
boomaga
calligra
cups-filters
emacs-pdf-tools
gambas3
gdal
gdcm
inkscape
ipe-tools
pdf2djvu
pdf2htmlex
popplerkit.framework
texlive-bin
texworks
xpdf
I haven't tested them yet with versions > 0.44, although it seems there
should not be distruptive enough changes to the API of the private
libpoppler. I will deal with the failures anyway (as I have done in
the past).
Other cases:
* derivations
This source builds a libpoppler-based utility application which is
only used during the build to generate other data, and no trace of
that application are left in the resulting arch:all package.
Ben file:
title = "poppler 0.48.0";
is_affected = .depends ~ "libpoppler61" | .depends ~ "libpoppler64";
is_good = .depends ~ "libpoppler64";
is_bad = .depends ~ "libpoppler61";
Thanks,

libreoffice just went in, finishing this transition.
