Bug#775763: does weird things on lid close

Package: kde-plasma-desktop
Version: 5:84
Severity: normal

Hi,

this may be related to systemd. Things have gotten so complex since
then that I am at a loss about how to find out which actual component
is to blame. I hope that someone more knowledgeable will be able to
properly triage and reassign this. It may be possible that this is a
duplicate, which I was not able to determine myself for the same
reasons.

I have set my KDE in Energy Saving - System Settings so that the
screen is locked when I close the lid while the system is on AC power.
It is set to suspend on lid close only "On Battery" and "On Low
Battery".

It looks like the system honors these settings. At least, the moon
symbol does not come up when the lid is closed. After opening the lid
again, I briefly see my desktop before the sceen lock kicks in. This
may be an accidental information disclosure bug.

Additionally, a WLAN reconnect seems to happen. The plasma-nm applet
shows a swirl and I am prompted for the KWallet password. This is
really important since I guess that network connections get severed in
this situation.

When I tell my system not to suspend on lid close, I do expect it to
stay online as well.

Greetings
Marc
