Hi, I'm using kdm in a number of machines and I could not reproduce the problem. However, I suspect the problem might be related to the composite manager startup (the second time) due to a video driver glitch. Can you please provide the hardware info of the video card you are using? Can you test the problem using Xrender as the composing type? (System Settings -> Workspace Appearance and Behavior -> Desktop Effects -> Advanced -> Compositing type) Also, the steps to reproduce the problem are somewhat eclectic, please, could you provide a series of steps to reproduce the problem in a "clean" machine.
