I cut the whole update scenario but got the following bit which I think is important :- Traceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/apt-listchanges", line 237, in <module> main() File "/usr/bin/apt-listchanges", line 201, in main frontend.display_output(changes) File "/usr/share/apt-listchanges/AptListChangesGtk.py", line 44, in display_output buf = self.glade.get_widget("textview_main").get_buffer() AttributeError: 'NoneType' object has no attribute 'get_buffer' Now thing to note is apart from this it did not show all the changelogs to me. Have no idea what's the reason for this traceback. Please lemme know if any more info. is needed. I have kept the subject pretty abstract because most probably the maintainer will change it to something that's more relevant to the issue. -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_IN, LC_CTYPE=en_IN (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages apt-listchanges depends on: ii apt 0.8.15.10 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.42 ii debianutils 4.3 ii python 2.7.2-10 ii python-apt 0.8.3+nmu1 ii python-support 1.0.14 ii ucf 3.0025+nmu2 Versions of packages apt-listchanges recommends: ii exim4 4.77-1 ii exim4-daemon-light [mail-transport-agent] 4.77-1+b1 Versions of packages apt-listchanges suggests: ii chromium [www-browser] 18.0.1025.151~r130497-1 ii conkeror [www-browser] 1.0~~pre+git120102-1 ii epiphany-browser [www-browser] 3.2.1-2 ii gnome-terminal [x-terminal-emulator] 3.4.0.1-1 ii guake [x-terminal-emulator] 0.4.2-8 ii iceweasel [www-browser] 10.0.3esr-3 ii konqueror [www-browser] 4:4.7.4-2 ii konsole [x-terminal-emulator] 4:4.7.4-2 ii lynx-cur [www-browser] 2.8.8dev.12-2 ii midori [www-browser] 0.4.3-1 ii netsurf [www-browser] 2.8-2 ii netsurf-gtk [www-browser] 2.8-2 ii python-glade2 2.24.0-3 ii python-gtk2 2.24.0-3 ii uzbl [www-browser] 0.0.0~git.20111128-2 ii w3m [www-browser] 0.5.3-5 ii xfce4-terminal [x-terminal-emulator] 0.4.8-1+b1 ii xterm [x-terminal-emulator] 278-1 -- debconf information: * apt-listchanges/confirm: true * apt-listchanges/which: both * apt-listchanges/frontend: gtk * apt-listchanges/email-address: root * apt-listchanges/save-seen: true -- Regards, Shirish Agarwal शिरीष अग्रवाल My quotes in this email licensed under CC 3.0 http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc/3.0/ http://flossexperiences.wordpress.com 065C 6D79 A68C E7EA 52B3 8D70 950D 53FB 729A 8B17

This bug is 11.5 years old and the relevant atk-listchanges code has been pretty much completely rewritten since then, so I'm going to close the bug. Please open a new bug if you're still seeing this issue.
