You don't have to learn multiple ways to add a patch. You pick your
preferred tool and you use it. Others use their preferred tool and
everybody is happy since the exchange format (quilt series stored in
debian/patches) is well defined.

git-dpm and gbp-pq uses local branches that don't get pushed to update
the patch series but the result is a simple update of debian/patches in
whatever branch we store the Debian packaging.
