P7xx should be power7 or power7+ machines.  The power5 and power6 machines
were P5xx.

He could also mean the IBM eservers OpenPower 710 ([1]) and 720 ([2])
with indeed POWER5 that were sold between 2004 and 2006 or so.

They should certainly run ppc64 port.

As I have an OpenPower 720 I can confirm that it runs the ppc64 port, too.
