No, evedev is loaded, that's one of the first things I checked:

$ lsmod | grep evdev
evdev                  12352  0

Also saw a post somewhere mentioning psmouse, but I also have it loaded:

$ lsmod | grep psmouse
psmouse                43496  0
libps2                  7776  1 psmouse
serio                  18792  1 psmouse
