-Shut off- RTC support in the kernel. It made mine panic on boot.
As somebody mentioned you have to use clock instead of hwclock.
powerpc-utils-linux is -supposed- to replace /etc/init.d/hwclock.sh
with a version that uses "clock", but it doesn't seem to.
I put in the modification myself... I'm not in Debian right now.
Bother me until I post the patch.
