Er, maybe I'm being dense. Is there somewhere in the dselect or aptitude
documentation that explains such things as putting Perl modules in the
perl section (exceptions?), shared libraries in libs, static libraries and
headers in libdevel, what goes in web vs. net, the difference between
admin and utils, etc.? I have guesses about all of these things, having
packaged a variety of software and looked at the packages of lots more,
but they're still mostly informed guesses and it would be great to see
some more concrete documentation.

When browsing through packages on packages.qa.debian.org, I see a fair
number that have ftpmaster overrides for their archive section, so it
seems clear that I'm not the only one who's a bit confused. I get the
impression that new sections are discussed extensively when introduced,
but I'm not sure that the results of that discussion are then captured
anywhere.
