[Pkg-octave-devel] [RFU] Remove octave-plplot (for now)

Matthias Klose has made a change to the plplot package in Ubuntu which prevents the building of the Octave binding for PLplot. In sum, this means the removal of the octave-plplot package. This is a radical way of fixing Bug#73639, which is blocking the Octave 3.6 -> 3.8 transition. Matthias patch can be found in :

   https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=736392#50

I am Cc:ing this message to Andrew Ross, who is an upstream developer of PLplot and also the maintainer of the Debian package. I hope that he will agree with this change and that he or another DD will uploads a new version of the plplot package. We could reintroduce octave-plplot in the future, when the situation will become stable again.

Best,

Rafael
