Please rotate the mlnet.log file, which otherwise grows to several
hundred megabytes of data. This requires to find a way to inform
mlnet about the rotation and cause it to reopen the files.

At the same time, the truncation of the log file at startup could be
prevented.

You're right about that. I forgot it. This is only the case in lenny. The log file is now in /var/log/mldonkey and this change happened in 3.0.0-1. And since 3.0.1-1, the log file is rotated. Hence, I'm closing this bug report.
