They build against source of ocaml which are not LGPL ( the std lib is
LGPL but the compiler source and cmo are not LGPL ). I need to check,
but i promise you that the cmo on which epeire are linking, are not at
all LGPL ( don't remember the precise term used for thus library ).

I think it is a reason to keep away the rebuilding of ocaml by cameleon
every time...
To my mind it is better to deal with a clean cameleon installation and
then we will consider the inclusion of epeire and camtop...
