Not at all. They are upstream, they can change their own licensing terms for new releases of their code. They are simply not yielding their new work under the same terms as they did with their preceding work. The GPL is *not* viral, using it for version 2.21 of your code does not force you to use it for version 3.0. Kind regards, Thibaut.
