Dear Maintainer, after updating marco to 1.20.2-1 and replacing marco
with metacity (installed version 1:3.28.0-1) and changing back to tty7,
the desktop shows up fine (both on the regular disk and on the one from
scratch), with minor problems: it does not appear minimize and maximize
in the upper right icon of the windows, metacity fails a bit, some
messages in tty1:
metacity(2996): metacity-WARNING **: Invalid WM_TRANSIENT_FOR window ...
specified for ... (stellarium)
mate-appearance[4289]: segfault at 70000001c ip 00007f4f70b5ec31 sp

Thank you very much for the provisional solution!
These problems do not prevent me from using the desktop, so I could use
metacity until the next marco version to solve it.
(I change default Window Manager to metacity with dconf-editor, changing
in /org/mate/desktop/session/required-componets/windowmanager, Use
default value = off, custom value = metacity.)
