Your patch is not forgotten.The live system has so many options, it is hard to keep up with all of them. Testing/Verifying the proposed changes takes a lot of time.
With the possibility to boot from USB-pens, I would assume that the need for 'toram' had decreased, since these are much faster than CD-ROMs.
