Package: lintian
Version: 2.5.30+deb8u3
Severity: important

Hi,

Lintian will process all packages built from the same source/version
together. This currently implies that all related packages must be
unpacked fully at the same time. Unfortunately, for some package
groups this can become extremely excessive.

Consider libreoffice:
 * It builds over 100 binary packages (200 when checking 2 architectures)
 * Some of them are >= 2GBs in size unpacked in the lab.
 * The source itself is >= 3GB unpacked in the lab.

On lindsay.d.o I found it to be using 12GB before dying with "No more
space left on device".

For now, I have asked DSA for more disk space and have made lintian
use throw-away labs.

Hi,

It probably makes little sense to keep this bug around. In a strict
sense, it is not even an issue with Lintian. The entire lintian.d.o
infrastructure is new. The hints shown on the website are no longer
generated on linsay.d.o, but on private equipment. The new website is
dynamic and uses a PostgreSQL database. For the record, I currently
use 200 GB temporary disk space for five runners, and have encountered
no space issues. Either way, DSA will provide adequately-sized
equipment when the service is transferred.

Closing this bug. Thanks!

Kind regards
Felix Lechner
