Package: lintian Version: 2.5.13 Severity: normal -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA256 Dear lintian maintainers, As a heavy user of your package I like to inform you that I get debug-file-with-no-debug-symbols reported against my package winff-dbg. I verified with gdb that my package does contain the wished debugging symbols. I don't understand why my package does not follow this DWARF spec that is mentioned in the report, but it is likely caused by the compiler I use: Free Pascal. It could very well be a bug in fpc that it is not following this spec, but I am not in the position to determine if it should. Maybe someone could comment on that. Oops, I forgot an important note, which I don't quite understand. This report of debug-file-with-no-debug-symbols was only visible on lintian.debian.org, not on packages I create myself in an up-to-date (including lintian) sid chroot. I just tried out running it myself on the build deb files from the archive and all the winff-dbg packages fail except for my own (amd64) architecture. So there might be some truth somewhere in the check, I will investigate what is going wrong, but it seems lintian was right. I will close this bug for now, until I understand the situation better.
