Bug#663516: lintian: Should we retire old/reundant tags

* Niels Thykier <niels@thykier.net>, 2012-03-11, 22:31:
I am considering to retire a number of old tags I suspect are now useless.

The following tags are no longer emitted by any package in the entire
archive and I suspect no packager will trigger them.

use-of-compat-symlink

This can be easily triggered by accident when an upstream makefile installs stuff into such location. So either the tag should be retained or we should make sure that other tag (non-standard-dir-in-usr? file-in-unusual-dir?) is emitted

postinst-should-not-set-usr-doc-link

I'm not sure about this one.

package-uses-obsolete-file

Oh dear, this one surely is not emitted very often, because otherwise somebody would notice how horrible its description is. I think we can drop it.

old-style-example-dir
old-style-copyright-file [AR]

These should be probably replaced by a generic tag about stuff in /usr/doc.

obsolete-field

I'd drop it.

loads-obsolete-confmodule

I imagine you can trigger this by accident. I'd keep it.

binary-nmu-uses-old-version-style
ancient-dpkg-predepends-check
ancient-dpkg-long-filenames-check

These should be retired.

doc-base-file-references-usr-doc

If we had a generic tag about file in /usr/doc, then this one could be dropped.

Furthermore, I am considering to drop the following tags:
x11-games-should-be-in-usr-games
manpage-for-non-x11-binary-in-wrong-directory
manpage-for-x11-binary-in-wrong-directory
package-installs-font-to-usr-x11r6
package-installs-file-to-usr-x11r6-bin
old-app-defaults-directory

Any package triggering any of those tags would (as far as I can tell)
also trigger package-installs-file-to-usr-x11r6.

I'm all for merging them into package-installs-file-to-usr-x11r6.
