No. You probably have a 32-bit (Cardbus, PCI-like) card. It sounds
like your laptop only supports the older 16-bit (PCCard, ISA-like)
cards.

The electrical connections on the card types are different and the
physical difference prevents new cards from plugging into systems that
don't support them.

You can try to find a card that fits. It probably isn't worth paying
extra for 100 Mbps since you'll be limited by the bandwidth (1/2 data
width and slower) on the older bus.
