Not for sure! :-)

I really don't know then how to use my hardware on this particular version of
knoppix I've downloaded from a bittorrent link found on www.knoppix.org.

I just put in the cd-rom md5sum checked and go with "knoppix26 lang=it" at
boot prompt, then I ran a few test, then saved on /dev/sda, my usb-stick,
which would be seen as /dev/sdc, 'cause of two sata drives if sata is
properly* recognized.

First from my working previously installed debian dmesg about my sata config:

then the test on running knoppix3.4 (17-05-2004) after kde bootup (no other
problems but disk, fine work !):

Maybe I missed something really important, but I cannot see serial-ata support
in this knoppix version, or just no support that I can handle. Any hints?
(I'm trying in fact to remaster this one with serial-ata support, but I miss
something on mkinitrd creation, lots of .o in lkm of minirt26.gz
from /cdrom/boot/isolinux when I was used to see .ko for kernels 2.6... Can I
look at your scripts for making the knoppix kernels and initrds?, please?)

*properly: In my bios I cannot chose "emulation", "Sata-first" or similar, but
just "enabled" or "disabled" for serial ata setting. With the same disks on
my previous motherboards (both with sata-via chipets, differently from the
current mb) they (emulation) apperead under /dev/hde and /dev/hdg,
respectively.
