Re: Re : [debian-knoppix] re: Modem problem

Hi Jean-Luc,

My ISP only provides dynamic IP address

New test;
After setting up ADSL connection

root@ttyp0[root]# ip addr
1: lo: <LOOPBACK,UP> mtu 16436 qdisc noqueue
    link/loopback 00:00:00:00:00:00 brd 00:00:00:00:00:00
    inet 127.0.0.1/8 scope host lo
2: eth0: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen 100
    link/ether 00:50:fc:6c:70:f7 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
3: eth1: <BROADCAST,MULTICAST,UP> mtu 1500 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen 100
    link/ether 00:50:fc:61:f3:94 brd ff:ff:ff:ff:ff:ff
    inet 192.168.2.2/24 brd 192.168.2.255 scope global eth1
4: ppp0: <POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST,NOARP,UP> mtu 1492 qdisc pfifo_fast qlen
3
    link/ppp
    inet 202.123.68.159 peer 202.123.71.254/32 scope global ppp0

root@ttyp0[root]# ping www.yahoo.com
ping: unknown host www.yahoo.com
root@ttyp0[root# ping www.yahoo.com
ping: unknown host www.yahoo.com

/etc/resolv.conf
nameserver 202.123.77.209
nameserver 202.123.77.213

I was not allowed to alter to;
nameserver 202.123.77.159
nameserver 202.123.71.254
Saving this file after editing was not allowed.

Problem discovered during test
1) Mozilla Netvigator and Mozilla browser could not be started. I used
Konqueror to test Internet connection but failed
2) CD could not unmounted during shutdown

B.Regards
Stephen
