You're right, there's no fix at this time. This issue is thus still
present in current stable kernel 2.6.32 and development kernel
2.6.33-rc6 (as time of writing).

FYI, simply reverting patch "drm: Preserve SHMLBA bits in hash key for
_DRM_SHM mappings" enables back DRI on ia64 systems, but I don't think
this is the right way to fix this issue ;-)
