Open position: Debian System Administrator
Hi,
we currently have an open position in the HPC group of GSI research
center at Darmstadt, Germany. The job offer is in German only unfortunately:
http://gsi.de/informationen/internal/vw/pa/1920-12.50.html
Nevertheless speaking German is not really required but you should be
willing to learn German on the job.
I just posted a short description of the Debian infrastructure at GSI here:
http://lists.debian.org/debian-science/2012/05/msg00110.html
Basically the job profile covers all our groups tasks on a > 1000 node
Debian cluster from high-level configuration management with Chef to
fiddling with broken hardware in case of an urgent emergency (this
became more and more seldom during the years).
The new position will probably focus a lot on monitoring, which did not
grow fast enough with the growth of the cluster during the last years.
Be aware you will not be assigned to detailed specific tasks. There are
many areas where a lot of work needs to be done and we expect that you
are able to identify problems and work out solutions without
supervision. This position is classified as a research associate (not
sure if this is the correct term in English), therefore we ask for an
university degree.
Please contact me if you have any questions and don't hesitate to send
any applications in English.
Cheers,
Christopher
