The original Linksys WAP11 needed fixes to work with AppleTalk over Ethernet. A pure bridge would not care.
Linksys WET11s perform a weird perversion of proxy-arp. Everything behind the "bridge" appears to have the MAC address of the bridge.
Enterasys RoamAbout APs have quite a few protocol filtering options. So do many managed switches, for that matter.
If it appears a bridge may not be passing protocol P, do not assume it is passing protocol P without proof such as tcpdump.
