While I agree that the reasons for this are valid, it seems a shame that the
general case (works with either kind of connection) has a 6 on the end,
which would appear to imply ipv6-only to me.
However, I can't think of a name that doesn't imply ipv6-only apart from
just plain tcp/udp, and as you say, that has serious compatibility problems.
