Re: Broken Lenny kernel?

Hi,

Kernel was updated from linux-image-2.6.26-1-mckinley 2.6.26-10 to 2.6.26-11. Upon completion, the system can't be restarted properly. I mean, the reboot sequence doesn't ignite, neither by entering reboot as root nor by pressing the Ctrl+Alt+Del keys. I must switch off and on the system.

initramfs-tools wasn't updated but a new initrd image was generated.

Reverting to kernel 2.6.26-10 (even while keeping linux-libc-dev 2.6.26-11) makes the system bootable again.

I didn't have time to hook up a serial console to record the kernel trace when the system finally crashes. Maybe today?

Can you be more specific? What version did you update from and what
version did you update to? Did you also update initramfs-tools?
/var/log/dpkg.log can tell you. A boot log would also be helpful.
