After 10 days on the mailing lists, there is only one other person
reporting the same problem, so I suspect the cause is something obscure
(perhaps using such an old kernel) and don't imagine this problem will
warrent much attention considering the other outstanding bugs.
I have downgraded my system to stable and don't intend to upgrade to
testing again, so please close this bug item.
