Since it's reading week I had nothing better to do than to try building Mozilla for m68k. (Note that this is not an intent to take over the (AFAIK, orphaned) package, unless someone else wants to compile it for i386 - neither of my Intel Debian boxen have enough bandwidth or disk space for it.) Surprisingly enough, it builds nearly "out of the box" from CVS sources, and much more quickly than XFree86 :-) However, it doesn't actually work: [dhd@elm] /usr/local/src/mozilla/dist/bin$ LD_LIBRARY_PATH=. ./viewer BUG IN DYNAMIC LINKER ld.so: ../sysdeps/m68k/dl-machine.h: 260: elf_machine_rela: Assertion ! "unexpected dynamic reloc type"' failed! strace tells me that the error occurs just after loading /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/libICE.so.6, though that may be pure coincidence. My first instinct was to file a (normal severity, of course - everything else works fine) bug against libc6, but there's already one. I'm curious if anyone might know the cause of this problem. (I'm assuming that the BTS will automatically forward this to the debian-glibc list) I'm looking at the relevant portion of the libc sources, and I have no idea what's going on there :-) Libc version is: 2.0.7.19981211-5 Cheers -- dhd@maclinux.plcom.on.ca (wearing my Linux/m68k+Mac+Debian hat) Latest kernels/patches: http://maclinux.plcom.on.ca/pub/
